Standard or premium: what is the difference?
It all comes down to the cathode. A ternary cell blends nickel, manganese and cobalt: it is reliable, much cheaper and perfectly suited to a spare Mac, a Mac used mostly on mains power, or a machine being refurbished for resale. For a Mac used daily on battery, or one you intend to keep for years, our premium batteries with Cobalt cells come closest to the behaviour of the original Apple battery. Frequently asked questions
Is a standard battery reliable?
Yes: the ternary cell is a proven chemistry. It is simply one step below the Cobalt cell when it comes to reproducing, over time, the factory behaviour of an Apple battery.
Is the capacity lower than the premium range?
No: for a given model, both ranges have the same rated capacity (mAh). The difference lies in the cell chemistry and its durability.
What is the warranty?
