Replacing a MacBook Air battery: the price, model by model
The price of a MacBook Air battery depends mainly on the year of the Mac and the quality of the cells. Here is the price of each model in our catalogue as of 29/10/2026, in standard and premium versions.
Prices at a glance

What makes the price vary
- The year of the Mac. Batteries for recent MacBook Airs (M2, M3, M4 and 15-inch) cost more than those for the 2010 to 2017 models, which have been made in large numbers for years.
- The cell chemistry. Our Cobalt batteries reproduce the behaviour of the original battery as closely as possible; ternary NMC batteries (nickel, manganese, cobalt) are more affordable.
- The capacity. It is shown in mAh on each product page: compare it with that of the original battery for your model.

When should you replace the battery?
- macOS tells you. In System Settings > Battery, the battery condition changes from “Normal” to “Service Recommended”.
- Battery life has dropped noticeably, or the Mac shuts down suddenly while it still shows charge remaining.
- The battery is swelling: the trackpad is lifting or the underside of the Mac is bulging. Stop using it and do not charge it again.
- The Mac no longer charges: it is not always the battery, so check the charger and the cable first.
Do it yourself or use a workshop?
On 2010 to 2017 MacBook Airs, the battery is screwed in: all you need is a pentalobe screwdriver to open the bottom case and a Torx screwdriver for the battery. From 2018 onwards, it is glued in: the replacement requires more care. Our guides cover each model, step by step.

Frequently asked questions
How much does a MacBook Air M1 battery cost?
We sell the MacBook Air M1 (A2337) battery from €25.90 (price as of 29/10/2026).
And for a 2010 to 2017 13-inch MacBook Air (A1466)?
Its battery starts at €18.62 (price as of 29/10/2026). It is one of the easiest to replace: it is screwed in.
And for a MacBook Air M4 (A3240)?
Its battery starts at €59.90 (price as of 29/10/2026).
Do I need an original Apple battery?
No. A good-quality replacement battery works just like the original. On Apple Silicon Macs, macOS may report an “unknown part” after the replacement: this does not stop the battery from working.
My battery is swelling, what should I do?
Stop using the Mac, do not charge it again and have the battery replaced as soon as possible: a swollen battery can damage the trackpad and the case.
