Same 5K Retina panel, same 218 ppi density : on the desktop, sharpness is identical. The difference plays out on HDR, which the Studio Display does not handle and the G27P supports — a real plus for photo, video and compatible content. Both cap at 600 nits ; only one of the two displays HDR.
The Studio Display bets on Thunderbolt 5 — plenty of bandwidth, but a Mac universe. The G27P adds HDMI 2.1 and DisplayPort 1.4 : it works with a Mac, but also a Windows/Linux PC and consoles (PlayStation, Xbox, Nintendo). A single USB-C cable charges a MacBook up to 100 W. For a versatile setup, the Kuycon is more open.
Apple's counterpunch, and it's a real one. The Studio Display packs a 12 MP Center Stage webcam, six speakers with spatial audio and three mics. For anyone who lives on video calls without wanting accessories, it's unbeatable. The G27P has neither a webcam nor premium speakers : it puts everything into the panel and connectivity. At Apple, the height-adjustable stand is a 400 € option — the base model offers only tilt. The G27P arrives with an included height-adjustable stand (height, tilt) and the VESA adapter. Out of the box, one is ready to work, the other awaits a 400 € accessory.

Yes. Both displays have the same 5K resolution (5120 × 2880) and the same density of 218 pixels per inch across 27 inches. Text and image sharpness are equivalent ; the G27P adds HDR support.
Yes, in 5K with Apple Silicon Macs (M1, M2 and newer) and iPad Pro, as well as many recent Intel Macs. It also works with Windows/Linux PCs and consoles via HDMI, unlike the Studio Display.
At equivalent 5K panel and density, the G27P comes to about 750 € less with the stand. It doesn't pack Apple's webcam or premium speakers, but includes HDR, HDMI 2.1 and a height-adjustable stand — often a paid option at Apple.
