Overview
CD3215C00 USB-C chip for MacBook Pro / MacBook Air (A1706/A1707/A1932/A1989/A1990, 2016-2019) — a new CD3215C00 chip, the Texas Instruments USB-C / Power Delivery controller that negotiates charging (up to 20 V) on the USB-C ports, to be soldered onto the logic board. It is fitted to the 2016-2019 MacBook Pro 13" and 15" and the 2018-2019 MacBook Air Retina (see the compatibility table).
Common symptoms: Mac not charging, USB-C / Thunderbolt 3 port not working, Mac won’t turn on, USB-C ammeter stuck at 5 V, chip overheating or shorted.
Fitted by soldering (hot-air station): this part is intended for equipped repair technicians. Sold individually: order as many chips as controllers to replace (U3100, U3200, UB300, UB400 depending on the board).
