MacBook Pro M5 (A3434, A3426, A3428): replaceable parts
The MacBook Pro M5 comes in three versions: 14-inch M5 (A3434, late 2025), 14-inch M5 Pro or M5 Max (A3426/A3427, 2026) and 16-inch M5 Pro or M5 Max (A3428/A3429, 2026). Some parts are shared, others are not: here is how to find your way.

Identifying your MacBook Pro M5
Turn the Mac over: the model number is engraved near the hinges. A3434 is the 14-inch M5, A3426 and A3427 are the 14-inch M5 Pro or M5 Max, A3428 and A3429 are the 16-inch M5 Pro or M5 Max. The Apple menu > About This Mac shows the chip: it matters for the bottom case. Our parts are grouped by model: MacBook Pro 14-inch M5 (A3434), MacBook Pro 14-inch M5 Pro or M5 Max (A3426/A3427) and MacBook Pro 16-inch M5 Pro or M5 Max (A3428/A3429).
What is shared and what is not
The battery is the same on the 14-inch M5 (A3434) and the 14-inch M5 Pro or M5 Max (A3426/A3427). The MagSafe 3 connector is shared by all 14 and 16-inch MacBook Pro since 2021. On the 14-inch M5 (A3434), several parts are those of the 14-inch MacBook Pro since 2021: speakers, fans, microphone, display cable, Touch ID board and Wi-Fi antenna. The M5 Pro and M5 Max models have their own speakers, fans and trackpads.
The display: standard or nano-texture
Each model comes with a standard, glossy display or a nano-texture display, matte and anti-glare. Choose the same type as the original display, in the color of the Mac: Silver or Space Black. The display is replaced as a complete assembly: panel, glass and lid. The price and the steps are detailed in our display pages, model by model.
The battery
The 14-inch MacBook Pro, in M5 as well as M5 Pro or M5 Max, uses a 6,312 mAh battery; the 16-inch uses an 8,734 mAh battery. Both use ternary lithium cells. It is time to replace it when battery life drops sharply, when System Settings > Battery shows “Service Recommended”, or when the Mac shuts down without warning.
The bottom case: M5 Pro or M5 Max
On the 2026 14 and 16-inch models, the bottom case is not the same depending on the chip: there is an M5 Pro version and an M5 Max version. Check the chip in the Apple menu > About This Mac before ordering.
The keyboard
For the 14-inch M5 (A3434), we offer the French keyboard and the keyboard backlight. For all models, we have ANSI, ISO or JIS key kits, and a conversion kit from the US keyboard to French.
Before opening the Mac
- Make a backup, with Time Machine for example.
- Shut down the Mac and unplug the charger before opening the bottom case.
- Keep the screws in the order you remove them: they are not all the same length.

Does the 14-inch MacBook Pro M5 battery fit an M5 Pro or M5 Max?
Yes. The 14-inch M5 (A3434) and the 14-inch M5 Pro or M5 Max (A3426/A3427) use the same 6,312 mAh battery. The 16-inch (A3428/A3429) has its own battery, 8,734 mAh.
How do I know if my display is nano-texture?
Turn the display off and look at a reflection: on a standard display it is sharp, like in a mirror; on a nano-texture display it is blurry and diffuse.
Which charger for a MacBook Pro M5?
Our 67 W USB-C chargers suit the 14-inch M5, the 96 W ones the 14-inch M5 Pro or M5 Max and the 140 W ones the 16-inch. A less powerful charger charges more slowly.
