The MacBook Air M5, released in 2026, comes in 13-inch (A3449) and 15-inch (A3448). Here are the parts that can be replaced and what to check before ordering: the size of the Mac and its color.

Identifying a MacBook Air M5
Turn the Mac over: the model number is engraved near the hinges. A3449 is the 13-inch MacBook Air M5 and A3448 is the 15-inch MacBook Air M5. To confirm the chip, open the Apple menu > About This Mac. The MacBook Air M5 comes in four colors: Silver, Sky Blue, Starlight and Midnight. 13-inch or 15-inch: different parts
The display, bottom case, top case, USB-C boards, speakers and MagSafe 3 connector are not the same on the two sizes. Check the A3449 or A3448 number on the product page before ordering.
Color matters
The display, trackpad, bottom case and USB-C boards come in all four MacBook Air M5 colors. Choose the color of your Mac: you can see it on the lid, around the keyboard and under the Mac.
The display
On the MacBook Air M5, the display is replaced as a complete assembly: panel, glass and lid. The lid angle sensor, which tells the Mac the position of the display, is also available as a separate part.
The keyboard
We do not sell the complete MacBook Air M5 keyboard, but key kits: ANSI, ISO or JIS depending on your keyboard layout, and a conversion kit from the US keyboard to French. Our guide to keyboards by language explains how to recognize your layout.
The charging port
The MagSafe 3 connector of the MacBook Air M5 is the same as on the MacBook Air M2, M3 and M4 of the same size. It comes in white/silver and black/space gray. The USB-C ports are mounted on separate boards, sold in the color of the Mac.
The battery

Before opening the Mac
- Make a backup, with Time Machine for example.
- Shut down the Mac and unplug the charger before opening the bottom case.
- Keep the screws in the order you remove them: they are not all the same length.
